There is no doubt abouit the fact that the floors made of marble always lend a regal and distinctive touch to homes and buildings. Marble folooring is very much in demand because of the cooling effects they have on the home. The reason behind giving this cooloing effect is that the marble is dense solid with low heat-conduction properties. This means that marble takes a longer time to warm up. That is the reason, marble flooring is very popular for homes hot, humid climates.
Though marble is a favorite material used in flooring, it does take some type of maintenance to keep it constantly shiny and durable. The chances of wearing and tearing the surface is very common if your floors are in high-impact areas. White marble is easily-stained. In such cases it is better to use a professional cleaner for effective marble floor upkeep. Marble floors require treatment with pH-neutral sealers to absorb stains and compensate for the stone's porosity.
Use a good grade polishing powder or tin dioxide to remove stains or blemishes in marble flooring. Use a piece of cloth and rub the polish in the affected area. You can also use the polish once in a month if there is no stains so as to keep the floor shiny and blemish free.
Marble is extremely porous which makes it quite susceptible to more damage like breakage, cracking, or chipping. If marble pieces of the floor have broken away, the torn and chipped pieces should be located and the edges properly wiped with acetone. This removes all foreign material and allows for the proper bonding. You can use a regular epoxy glue to bind the pieces back into place. At times, you can also go for a manufacturer-approved repair cement.
